Not everyone wants to advertise that their store is using the Shopify platform. If you’ve noticed the default text in your store’s footer and want to know how to remove Powered by Shopify from your store, just follow these steps:
Log into your Shopify admin page.
In the left menu, click ‘Online Store,’ and make sure the ‘Themes’ option is selected.
On the right, find your current theme, and click the ‘Actions’ drop-down menu.
In the ‘Actions’ menu, click ‘Edit Languages.’
On the ‘General’ tab, type ‘powered’ into the ‘Filter’ form field.
Wait for the results to load and scroll down to find ‘Powered by Shopify.’
To remove the text “Powered by Shopify” completely, enter a single space with your space bar. Or, you can opt to enter custom text if you prefer.
Click ‘Save’ to apply your changes.
Open the Shopify app and ensure you’re logged into your account.
Tap the ‘Store’ icon in the bottom right corner of your screen.
Scroll to the bottom of the menu, and tap your ‘Online Store.’
Tap ‘Manage Themes.’
Locate the current theme your store is using, and tap on the ‘Actions’ button.
From the drop-down list, tap ‘Edit Language.’
In the ‘Filter translations’ box, type ‘powered’ and wait for the results to appear.
Locate the ‘Powered by Shopify’ form field. To remove the text completely, enter a single space with the space bar. Or, you can enter custom text if you prefer.
Tap ‘Save’ to apply your changes.
If you’re using a third-party theme, you may need to contact their support team directly in order to remove “Powered by Shopify.”
And if you change your theme, “Powered by Shopify” will reappear, and you’ll need to repeat this process to remove it.
